After the National Socialists seized power in Germany, the collecting pictures were used primarily for propaganda purposes, as illustrated, for example, by the sociologist Ernst Lewalter's album: Robber State England.  One would paste standard pictures received as bonuses with cigarettes in an album, these were series of so-called „cigarette books” (Cigaretten-Bilderdienst). Apart from such a basic version, there were also whole photo series of these collecting pictures/themed postcards, which were sent to the local NSDAP groups as propaganda material. The auction item is the complete series of such photographs with the original NSDAP envelope.
