Auction set: a set of the following 5 pcs of Israeli coins from 1978-1991:
1. 1978 - 25 Agorot: composition: aluminium-bronze, diameter: 25.5 mm, weight: 6.5 g, Mint: Jerusalem. Obverse: three-stringed lyre; "Israel" in Hebrew and Arabic. Reverse: value. Edge: smooth.
2. 1979 – 5 Lirot: composition: copper-nickel, diameter-30.0 mm, weight: 11.2 g. Mint: Royal Australian Mint-Canberra. Obverse: Lion resembling the image of the sigelring of "Shem'ra, servant of Jerobeam" with state emblem (menorah flanked by olive branches) above. Reverse: value flanked by stars. Edge: smooth.
3. 1979 - 1 Lira: composition: copper-nickel, diameter-27.5 mm, weight: 9.0 g. Mint: Jerusalem. Obverse: Three stylized grenadine fruits, state emblem (menorah flanked by olive branches). Reverse: value, 2 stars (image from early coins at about 103 B.C. Alexander Jannaeus). Edge: alternating segments: five smooth, five milled.
4. 1984 - 50 Sheqalim: composition: aluminium-bronze, diameter-28.0 mm, weight: 9.0 g, Jerusalem Mint. Obverse: replica of a coin from the fourth year of the war of the Jews against Rome depicting a lulav between two etrogim; the emblem of the State of Israel; "Israel" in Hebrew, English and Arabic. Reverse: the denomination "50 Sheqalim" in Hebrew and English between two stars; the date in Hebrew. Edge: reeded.
5. 1991 - 10 Agorot: composition: copper-aluminium-nickel, diameter: 22.0 mm, weight: 4.0 g, Mint: Royal Norwegian Mint, Kongsberg-Norway. Coin variante: bold date, width 7.1 mm, heigt of ’1’ 6.8 mm. Obverse: replica of a coin issued by Mattathias Antigonus (37 - 40 B.C.E.) with the seven-branched candelabrum; the emblem of the State of Israel; "Israel" in Hebrew, English and Arabic. State emblem (menorah flanked by olive branches) above. Reverse: value in square. Edge: smooth.
